I Made It

Paige was so proud of herself after sliding that she kept saying, "I made it, I made it!"

Looking Back...

I am starting something new with my blog. Occasionally I will post old pictures that are too cute not to share. Trisha does this with her blog, and it's such a cute idea I stole it from her! Thanks girlie! So, here's the first picture in the "Looking Back" series...

Jake (12 months) was pretty proud of himself when he peed all over his Daddy!

Fishy Friends

We made another trip to the aquarium. I'm so thankful we bought the pass because this has been a hot summer, and there's not much to do other than swim or indoor activities.

Paige, Embry, Ellie, Hayes, and Jake....what a sweet little crew this is!

Jake and Hayes have become the best little friends. They both love to fish, and we've decided they are going to be life long fishin' buds. After both of their daddies are finished with residency and both families move to start their "real" doctorin' jobs we will only be a few minutes away! We are soooo excited to have such a great family that will be setting up homestead in the town next to ours. How lucky could be get?

Trisha and I sure hope they won't be fishing for alligators!

Swim Lessons Complete

Today Jake completed the two week swim course. He passed Level One!! He took lessons at an indoor pool, so the pictures aren't great, but here is what I've got. He took lessons with his friend, Jadyn, for the second year in a row. The hardest part of swim lessons was chasing Paige and keeping her entertained. At least she had Jadyn's little sister, Leah, to play with.

Happy Birthday Uncle Jim

Happy Birthday to a funny guy, the life of the party, a kid at heart, a great uncle, and an amazing big brother! We hope you have a great day!
P.S. In case you are wondering why a huge OSU fan is wearing a Nebraska cap....it's because OU played Nebraska that day, and we always root for OSU and whoever OU is playing. That's just how we were raised!!!

Happy Father's Day

I am definitely the luckiest girl in the world. I have a husband who works hard to give his family everything they need and more. I have a husband who changes dirty diapers, plays with his kids A LOT, calls and texts me during the day just to say Hi, lets me have girls' night out, helps with the kid's bath time and bedtime, never complains when I don't feel like cooking, but most importantly I know how much he loves me, Jake, and Paige.

Happy Father's Day from your little cowboy....

And, from your little cowgirl.....

And, from your most loyal fan.
Love you Brad!!
Also, Happy Father's Day to Papa and Papa Mitch!

My Boy Can Swim

Jake started swim lessons last week. He has always loved the water, but he is attached to his life jacket. Well, today we got to witness a first! We went swimming when Brad got home from work, and Jake swam for the first time. We are so proud of him! I actually almost cried because of how far he has come. Last year during swim lessons it was a big deal for him to even get his face wet and now HE CAN SWIM!! I still wouldn't leave him unattended in a pool, but we are making major progress.

He is so proud of himself!!!

Thank You Dad

Thank you Dad for loving me no matter what. Thank you Dad for teaching me that family is the most important thing. Thank you Dad for teaching me that even if you don't agree with every decision, you still support your family. Thank you Dad for teaching me to saddle and ride a horse. Thank you Dad for showing me that it's important to have roots. Thank you Dad for me showing the beauty of the country. Thank you Dad for teaching me to love OSU. Thank you Dad for going with me to enroll my first semester there. Thank you Dad for enlightening me to all kinds of music, especially Bob Wills. Thank you Dad for always giving me great advice. Thank you Dad for being YOU!

Jewel's Lullaby

I bought this CD for Paige, because she still listens to music at night. I would highly recommend buying it. Her voice is so amazing and soothing. I have never bought one of her albums, but heard about this one while she was promoting it. Paige must like it too because she slept very well last night!

Papa and his hair

This is the conversation Jake and I had in the car on the way to swim lessons today.

Jake- "Mom, I would still be me if I lost all my hair, right?"
Me- "What do you mean? Why would you lose your hair?"
Jake- "I mean when I get old. Papa doesn't have any hair."
Me- "Yes, even if you lost all your hair you would still be YOU."
Jake- "Well, Papa does have some hair."

Jake (almost 5 months) and Papa at the lake.

Jake (2 1/2) and Papa at the lake.

Jake has always been a Papa's boy! He loves to go fishing with him, help him in the green house, help him mow and plant flowers, or just hang out watching Star Wars.

I think it was so cute how he defended Papa's hair! "Well, Papa does have SOME hair!"

Kids say and think the funniest things!

Oklahoma Aquarium

We bought a season pass to the aquarium, and decided to try it out yesterday. The kids were in awe of all the different kinds of fish, but I think their favorite exhibit was the turtles.
Paige did not want to be held back at all, and certainly not for a picture!

Weekend at the Lake

We took the kids to Lake Eufaula this weekend to hang out with Uncle Ben and Aunt Elaine. It was Paige's first time at the lake. She had so much fun riding the boat, playing in the sand, swimming in the water, riding the golf cart, and running around on the deck. Jake has been many times and is a pro. He did get brave and try a few new things like riding the tube faster and swinging off the deck.

Paige's 1st boat ride

Jake paddled around everywhere!

After watching Jake swing off the deck Paige threw a fit, because she wanted to swing too. She is our dare devil!

Thank you UB and AE for a great weekend! We can't wait to come back!

I thought he was hungry

Paige decided to take it upon herself to feed the fish tonight. She must have thought he was pretty hungry!

I asked her why she fed the fish. Her response, "um, um..." Then she said, "I sorry, Mommy." It's hard to get upset with a two year old that's so darn cute! Needless to say, she went straight to bed right after I cleaned up the mess!

Tee it up

Jake took his golf clubs to OKC last weekend, and had a great time showing everyone his swing. Even the big people tried out his little clubs and had just as much fun as he did.

Uncle Jay gave Jake some orange practice balls that worked like a charm.

Uncle Jay, Jake, and Uncle Jim tee it up!

Even Nony used his clubs to show us how it's done. She is the only 86 year old that I know who still enjoys a good round of golf.
