Eternal Life

Jake asked Jesus into his heart during church yesterday. Before church started he was telling me all about what he learned in Sunday School. They took a tour of the church, and talked about what it meant to have eternal life with God. He said, "Mommy, if you ask Jesus into your heart then you get to live with God forever in heaven." We talked about it a little more, and then I led him in a prayer right before Father Mich walked down the aisle. Perfect timing!

As I was thinking about how special that moment was, I thought about his baptism. He was just a baby and already experiencing God's love. That was also a super special day!

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them,
for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 19:14

Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6

Valentine's Day

Jake got just what he wanted......a dog!
Well, not the "real" dog he wanted, but he was pretty excited.

He named his new doggie, Jack.

Paigie was also excited about her new hippo!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Sledding with Daddy

Brad got in on the fun during this last snow storm. We had anywhere from 12-15 inches. He pulled the kids on our make-shift sled (aka trash can lid), but they didn't mind. They were just happy Daddy was out there playing with them, since Mommy has turned them down several times. I didn't even enjoy playing in the snow as a child. Being cold is not my thing, so it's a good thing they have such a great Dad!

I have a feeling that Santa may bring sleds next year for Christmas......

Enough Snow Already

As I sit here and wait for the next round of Blizzard 2011 to hit, which will be here in the next hour, all I keep thinking about is Summer. Oh, how I miss Summer!

Don't get me wrong, I can handle snow once or twice a year. Otherwise, how would I get pictures like this....

But, I would much rather be taking pictures of this....

Or this....

I'm officially done and over Winter......Please bring an early Spring!

Picture Project

I have always liked black and white photos, and have been wanting a place to display some family pictures. Brad hung them up a month or so ago, and it makes me smile everytime I walk up the stairs.

Father/Daughter Dance

Tonight was the Father/Daughter dance. Let me tell you, this is a big deal here in Ponca! Since it was our first year we didn't know what to expect. Little girls look forward to it all year long.

Paige even got her hair fixed at a salon!
I think Paige had the best lookin' date in town!

Something funny?

Mirror, Mirror on the wall.....

She loved her corsage from her Daddy.

She said it was her favorite part of the outfit.

Brad said she was a little overwhelmed at the dance. She stayed close to him, and didn't want to dance much. She said, "Mommy, the loud music frightened me!" She told me her favorite part of the night was seeing a beautiful princess. Apparently they had "real life" princesses there too!

She has been talking about this evening for quite a while, and tonight did not disappoint her. I'm pretty sure she will be going every year with the same sweet guy. He won't disappoint her either!

Get Me Outta Here

After two days of "no school" due to the weather.....

My babies were ready to get out of the house.
They headed back to school today with smiles on their perfect little faces.

Love You Forever

Sometimes Jake still lets me hold him. Sometimes he even wants me to carry him up to bed. As I was carrying him to bed tonight, I told him that as long as I could still pick him up I would hold him. Then he says, "Mama, I think when I'm 17 I will have to start carrying you."

This melted my heart. I immediately thought of the book, Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. If you've never read this story, you should. It will make you cry. It's a precious story about the love between a mother and her son.

Seriously, buy this book.

My baby is growing up so fast, and is always reminding me that he can do things on his own. But, when he wants me to hold him, I always will.
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living,
My baby you'll be.

Footprints

The snowstorm came just as they said it would.
