Busy Weekend

I feel like my head is spinning. It's been a little busy around our house. Last Thursday Becky and I made a 15 hour long shopping trip to Tulsa. I've been decorating Brad's office and needed a few things to add the final touches. I must say, it's looking super fab! We shopped, ate, shopped, ate again, and then shopped some more. We had to eat at both of my most missed places....The Brook and Pei Wei. We strolled into Ponca about 11:30 pm....not so sure the hubbies are gonna let us loose again for a while. Ha!

Then on Friday night we had 5 other couples over for dinner. We did a Mexican theme and everyone brought something. Date night turned into being "junior high dance" where the guys were playing cards and the girls decided to drive to Stillwater for a late movie. We saw The Switch with Jennifer Aniston. It was really cute! We even went out with a bang when we got pulled over for speeding. I'm sure the police officer thought it was pretty funny pulling over a mini van with 6 mommies coming home from a late movie! Have I mentioned how much I love this group of friends we have???? Yes, I know. I say it all the time, but God has placed the most awesome group of friends in our lives. We love PC!

To top off the weekend we had a family dinner in OKC at Red Rock. My dad is getting married to the most amazing lady, so they wanted all their kids to meet. We sat out on the patio, had a drink or two, ate some great food, and bonded with Nancy's girls. She has two daughters, which were both Theta's, which is so cool since I was a Theta too. They both went to OU, but we don't hold that against them! HA! It was such a great night hanging out with my brothers and my future sisters. My dad and Nancy were so delightful to watch as their children bonded and all got along. Together, they will have 6 kids!

Life is moving along here in Ponca, and this week brings much more fun!

Paradise Pool

Paige, Chloe, and Jake
Last weekend we went to Sulphur to visit the Oden's. Brad's bestie from medical school just set up his practice there. We had such a great time! Isn't their pool amazing?

Family Breakfast

Paige is really into role play right now. She set up this feast all by herself while the big boys were playing the Wii. She kept holloring at them, "Come eat my family breakfast that I made for you." Finally, they joined her, and they actually enjoyed playing along. Jake and Charlie are such good boys!

First Day of 1st Grade

Jake was so excited about his first day of school.
He wasn't even nervous, which was a huge surprise. I think it's because he went to the same school last year....even if it was only for the last 10 days!
And, doesn't Princess Paige look super cute??? She was off to preschool!
Is that really my baby walking into school as a first grader?
I didn't cry, even though I wanted to.

He is ready to conquer the world!!! Or, at least first grade.

Big Green Tractor

Jake and Paige sure enjoyed riding around with Uncle Jay while he bailed hay. I think they have a little bit of country in them!

Meet the Teacher

Tonight was BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT!!!
Jake was super excited to find out he was in the same class as his buddy Ethan, who he hung out with all summer. Several of his other friends from the summer are in his class too.

Jake and his new teacher, Mrs. Kurtz.

I can't believe my little baby is going to be in first grade.
How time flies....

End of Summer Party

We got together with friends at the lake tonight for an end of summer party! We ate pizza, swam, took boat rides, and the kids had a blast tubing. We feel so fortunate and blessed to have such great friends here in Ponca. This has been the best summer we've ever had. I'm sad to see it end, but I know there will be many more summers to look forward to.

Busy Little Mama

Paige has always enjoyed playing with her babies,
but lately she has become quite the little Mama.

After strolling Baby Olivia around all afternoon Paige looked up at me
and said, "I'm a good little Mommy."
It was really sweet.

She adores her babies and always takes such good care of them.

She even told her Daddy, "You can only touch my babies feet cuz you don't want her to get sick." Ha! I'm laughing because that's what I always tell her when we are around real babies. (It used to drive me nuts when random people would touch all over my babies hands, so I have taught that to her.)

Paige has learned that even little Mama's need a sense of humor.

When it was bedtime Paige insisted that Olivia sleep right next to her. She tucked her in, and even gave her a blanket to cuddle with. After I tucked my baby girl in bed I went downstairs to finish up some laundry. After about 10 minutes I heard Paige upstairs walking around her room. I went to check on her and this is what I found.....

Paige said, "My baby won't go to sleep. She pooped. Now I readin' a story to her." It was so funny that I had to let her finish reading to her baby before I turned the lights out. Again.

Finally, after a clean diaper and a bedtime story Baby Olivia fell asleep.

When we left Paige's room Brad looked at me and said,
"Dang. I'm glad we had a little girl."
She melts him.

The doc is finally in....

Brad finished up his first week of his "real job" today. I can't tell you how great this week has been. It's amazing to finally see his/our dreams come true. I got chills on Monday when I called his office and they answered, "This is Dr. Liston's office...." My heart skipped a beat, and I was beaming with pride. That's my husband they are talking about....yep Dr. Liston. The same guy who 13 years earlier asked me out on a first date. The same guy who I married two years later. The same guy who studied his tail off during medical school and ranked at the top of his class while having two young kids at home.
Yep, that's my baby....Dr. Liston.
