I thought he was hungry

Paige decided to take it upon herself to feed the fish tonight. She must have thought he was pretty hungry!

I asked her why she fed the fish. Her response, "um, um..." Then she said, "I sorry, Mommy." It's hard to get upset with a two year old that's so darn cute! Needless to say, she went straight to bed right after I cleaned up the mess!

Tee it up

Jake took his golf clubs to OKC last weekend, and had a great time showing everyone his swing. Even the big people tried out his little clubs and had just as much fun as he did.

Uncle Jay gave Jake some orange practice balls that worked like a charm.

Uncle Jay, Jake, and Uncle Jim tee it up!

Even Nony used his clubs to show us how it's done. She is the only 86 year old that I know who still enjoys a good round of golf.

Getting the summer started

We joined a pool for the summer, and we've wasted no time getting our summer started. We went three times this week! We will all have a nice tan by the end of the summer.

Trip to the Dentist

The kiddie dentist is far different from the grown up dentist. They get to play video games in the waiting room, pick flavored tooth paste for the cleaning, watch a movie during the cleaning, and pick toys out of the treasure box when they are finished.

If my dentist let me watch Desperate Housewives during my visit I might actually want to go. Every six months comes way too quickly....

Zoo and Golf

Today we went to the zoo with Joy, Hannah, and Baby David. It rained all morning, but by the time we pulled into the zoo it had stopped, and the weather was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. Perfect! We packed a sack lunch and made a afternoon out of it.

These little monkeys had a great time!

Then, this evening Jake and I started golf lessons with Michelle and Chloe. My goal is to be able to play with Brad by the end of the summer without totally embarrassing him on the golf course. Today went pretty well. Our next lesson is Friday and I can't wait!

What a crew!
Is it a future Phil Mickelson I see?

Leaving T-Town

As I was on the phone yesterday with my friend Joy I realized that this is our last summer in Tulsa. I started to get really sad. We started our lives here. We were married here. Both of us got our first "real" jobs here. We bought our first house here. We started Med school here. We had two babies here. We did residency here. We have celebrated many Christmas and birthday's here. Almost all of our married memories have been here in Tulsa. We didn't know one person when we moved here 9 years ago, but we made a life for ourselves, and one that I am very proud of. We have great friends that I will miss desperately. It makes me sad to think that Jake and Paige will probably never really remember living in Tulsa. I love Tulsa, and it will always be special to me.

I know moving to Ponca is the right thing for our family, but it doesn't mean that I won't be sad at first. I am not a person who likes major changes. I am a nester. My plan is to move into our beautiful new home in Ponca City and never move out. I want my grand kids to visit us there. I want roots. I want Jake and Paige to be able to come home from college and sleep in their bedrooms that they grew up in. I want them to be proud of where they came from.

This is not at all what I sat down to write about, but there you have it. Leaving Tulsa to start a new chapter in our lives will be here before we know it.
